PvP: (Background info: Game director is an avid WoW Arena PvP player, has played every expansion and is multi-glad, was ranked #7 Mistweaver in Dragonflight, grinds pve just to play pvp.) Arenas (2v2/3v3) and Battlegrounds in Ravendawn absolutely a passion point for the director and already implemented into game, just currently disabled.
Inevitable MMO population drop off? Director is expecting it and not worried. Each channel has thousands of players (in both worlds). If 90% of current population drops will still have a very high pop count with reduced channels. (Currently 502k unique viewers on Twitch)
Major Lag Spikes: Happening when channels are rebooting and mass relogs happen. (Being fixed during this maintenance). Lag and server stability is the primary focus right now for the team.
Housing? Community housing to be improved (high priority). Land expansion will be accessed at lower levels to close the gap between community land and open world land. (Which is already only 10-20% better than community)
Zoom? Will not be changed. The entire world is created based on the current zoom level and changing it would provide unintended game system advantages.
Studio Size? Currently approximately 40 full time dev's, still indie but definitely not a tiny team.
Will Ravencards be available at a premium? No, in-game currency only.
Economy: Player driven, strong gear will not be dropped but crafted. (There is still reason to do bosses for artifacts, etc.)
Botters/Cheaters: Currently has caught and perma-banned all botters/cheaters before reaching rep requirement for trading
Cosmetics: Usually start getting them around lvl 30
Small QoL rquests: Not priority, server stability and housing currently top prios.
Class Balance: Currently in a very good state, if u suck its your gear or your build
Marketplace Lag: Currently being fixed.
Region Locking and pricing: Never going to happen. (Wants to ensure their global game stays global)
Hotkey remapping: Coming soon
Expansion? Already being developed.
2024 Road Map? Coming soon.
Public Stats/API Rankings: System is complete, will be implemented soon.
Legacy Spells: Unlocked at soft cap of 75
Overall vibe: Game director seems to be very passionate about the game and much less about the money, knows that the money will come as long as they provide a good product. (Ex. ExitLag approached the studio to help with current ping instability in SA and EU areas, offered 7 day free trial to players and 20% referral revenue to studio. Studio re-negotiated to receive no revenue but instead give players a free 30-day trial to buy time to fix re-implement integrated server proxy.) Community input is HEAVILY weighed in decision making.
