Это объективная критика которую разделяет большинство из научного сообщества. Очередная попытка создать безреактивный двигатель или (reactionless drive), своего рода святой грааль ракетостроения, пробовали многие, но пока не вышло ни у кого у всех попыток был как минимум один фундаментальный изъян который ставил крест на красивой идее на корню. В межпланетном пространстве если и можно перемещаться без использования ракетного двигателя так это разве что при помощи солнечных или магнитоплазменных парусов использующие энергию давления солнечного ветра и планетарных магнитных полей типа Земли или Юпитера, все остальное это жульничество и шарлатанство - попытка Барона Мюнгхаузена вытащить себя самого за косу из трясины.

We now use some of Einstein's more useful thought experiments and results. Start with the EMDrive at rest. Einstein tells us that the energy of this overall device (including both the rest mass of the container, as well as the electromagnetic energy contained in the microwave standing waves) in this reference frame is its 'rest mass'. Let's call it E_0. In this frame, its energy is equal to this 'rest mass' (yes, the famous E=mc^2) and its momentum is zero. Since there is no EM field outside the device, there is no other EM energy or momentum to consider.
Now consider some later time. Assume the hypothesis (which we will shortly show to be impossible) that Shawyer's drive had started to accelerate. It would now be moving with some velocity v in some direction. There would still be no EM radiation outside the device.
Einstein tells us what the energy and the momentum of the system is at this later time. Its energy will be
E = E_0 / sqrt( 1 - v^2 / c^2 )
which, to a first approximation, is just
E = E_0 + 1/2 (E_0/c^2) v^2 + higher order corrections
and its momentum will be
p = E_0 v / [ c sqrt( 1 - v^2 / c^2 ) ]
which to a first approximation is just
p = (E_0/c^2) v + higher order corrections
You can see that this first approximation is just normal old Newtonian mechnics of
E = 1/2 m v^2 (plus the rest mass)
and
p = m v
with the rest mass m = E_0 / c^2 (yes, the good old E=mc^2 again).
Now, what have we got out of this? At this later time, the total system has an energy that has increased by 1/2 (E_0/c^2) v^2, and it has acquired a momentum of (E_0/c^2) v.
There is nothing else in this system (it is a 'closed system', if you like). It started off with a certain energy E_0 and no momentum. It ends up with a greater energy and a nonzero momentum.
Maxwell's electrodynamics and Einstein's theory of relativity can never lead to such a result. They manifestly conserve both energy and momentum.
You can now see why I have referred to Shawyer's drive as a perpetual motion machine. If it were true, he wouldn't need to bother using it as a spacecraft propulstion device. He would be much better off using it to generate energy out of nothing. He could put one of his drives on a turbine blade, and it would generate electricity. It would solve the world's energy crisis!
