Доброе утро, ВоВ уже как 8 лет гибридную боевку имеет.
для начала нужно рассмотреть термины чтобы выяснить что говорим об одних и тех же вещах
What is the difference between tab combat and action combat?
Combat targeting falls into two main categories: A tab-targeted ability is something that must have a target for in order to utilize the skill.
An action skill is anything that can be utilized through placement of the player, such as a reticle, a ground template or a directional placement
Unfortunately the only proper way to differentiate "Tab Target" vs "Action Combat" is to understand what is going on under the hood.
World of Warcraft is basically what people refer to as the default "Tab Target MMO". World of Warcraft is programmed that every attack/ability is coded as a "Ability + Target Selected" when it's sent to the server. Basically unless an attack is an area of effect, your abilities cannot fire unless you have a target selected. Even if you know there is an invisible enemy in front of you, you cannot swing your sword to attack it (unless you use an AOE ability like Whirlwind).
In WoW, when you fire a spell, once it's in flight you cannot really dodge it. There are a few specific abilities coded to "block" in flight spells, but otherwise it's already predetermined.
New World is the quintessential "Action Combat MMO". Every attack is aimed at something, even melee. When you attack the server has to calculate a bunch of physics and collision information to see if the animation or projectile hit the target.
Guild Wars 2 is a difficult one to talk about. It has a "Tab Target" like functionality, where if you select a target all of your abilities will automatically track to the target... however, every action is physically simulated. You can swing your sword even if you are out of range, and you may hit a different target that is close to you instead. You can even disable targeting and use your crosshairs as a purely action game... but this makes shooting + teleportation to target abilities difficult to use. Guild Wars 2's user interface is built like a Tab Target MMO and in most scenarios its beneficial to play it like one, but the things under the hood are doing full physics calculations to see what you actually hit. You can avoid projectiles that are already in flight. If you swing your melee weapon and someone invisible is in front of you, you will damage them.
