Update Notes Issue #8: The Venetian Agenda - Game Update 1.8


Please note

  • The new Scenario, Augment System and Story Missions are not yet available. These will be added in the next update so please stay tuned.
General

  • Adjusted the experience awarded to groups, depending on group size (awards are unchanged for solo play and for groups of five).
  • Gadgets will no longer trigger the global cooldown when used.
  • Updated the simple description for Sudden Return.
  • Fixed an issue with the tooltip for the heal value of My Bloody Valentine.
  • Resolved an issue that could leave the boss area for Aspect of the Long-Toothed inaccessible for future players when the boss despawns.
  • Fixed a problem that could cause characters to drop from sprint immediately after combat.
Combat

  • Deadly Aim now applies a debuff to all affected party members which prevents them from receiving the Deadly Aim effect for 90 seconds.
  • Calling the Shots now also reduces the duration of the Deadly Aim blocker effect.
  • Breaching Shot now applies a debuff to all affected party members which prevents them from receiving the Breaching Shot effect for 90 seconds.
  • Breach Party now also reduces the duration of the Breaching Shot blocker effect.
  • Fixed an issue where Aftershock could trigger more than once.
  • Splatter should now affect Health Drone and Linked Veins.
  • Misdirection can no longer be used on friendly NPCs.
  • Fixed an issue where Chain Feed woudld not affect all healing chains.
  • Sleight of Hand should be usable while silenced now.
  • Groundwork will no longer erroneously build resources for your secondary weapon.
  • Suppressing Fire should now add resources more reliably when multiple players are shooting the same target.
  • The cooldown of Death From Above will now be properly reduced when using both Rocket Science and Double Dash.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause Grand Slam's AoE damage to occur twice per use.
  • Updated the tooltip for Do or Die to more accurately reflect its effect.
  • Guts and Gory should now properly trigger and benefit from Elemental Force.
  • Tenacity crits should now trigger Empowerment.
  • The Hinder associated with Bomb Squad should now last the correct duration.
  • Corrected a problem with Damage Redirects which caused Benediction & Cold Blooded to increase damage taken.
  • Reduced rubber-banding issue that occurs when certain abilities are queued.
Items

  • Fixed an issue that caused the reward bags from the Golem Anniversary Event to malfunction if players had the pet given by the bag stored in their bank.
  • Replaced the temporary text being used by Mark of the Illuminati/Dragon/Templar/etc. in the combat log.
  • It is no longer possible to stack the Signet of Salvation effect.
GUI

  • Character sheet will now remember which stats were displayed when it was last closed.
  • Fixed an issue where the camera would zoom in while scrolling through the Dressing Room.
  • Notifications for new lore entries now disappear after the lore is read.
  • Notifications for new achievements with sub-achievements now disappear when the sub achievement list is expanded.
  • Lore and Achievements are now marked as "old" as soon as they are read, rather than waiting until the notification fades out.
  • Added text for rarity levels to item tooltips.
  • Added a new Lockout Timers GUI accessible through the main menu, pressing Shift+L, or clicking the lockout buff.
  • Added a visual indication to the GUI for when players are in combat.
  • The gradient at the bottom of the screen now scales properly when changing HUD size.
  • Certain buffs should now always appear in the front of the buff list.
  • Fixed an issue where the buy button was disabled on skills after purchasing a skill and having exactly enough AP to purchase the next skill.
  • Fixed an issue where Battle Rank did not show in the character sheet for characters with maximum Faction Rank.
  • Increased the default width of vendor windows so that all prices are visible.
  • The broken items notification icon will now flash like other notifications.
Clothing

  • Fixed an issue that would cause a character's legs to disappear when wearing the Ritual Coat over certain dresses.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause a character's legs to disappear when wearing the Innsmouth hoodie over certain dresses.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause a character's legs to disappear when wearing certain coat items over the Meat is Murder - Butcher apron.
  • Fixed a case where the Delta Force - Right arm wrap would not always display on characters.
  • Adjusted a bad seam caused by the My Flair Lady shirt.
  • Adjusted the Creepy Equine and Unicorn hats to reduce clipping with shirt collars.
Missions

New York

  • Training Day: Fixed a clipping issue with Kirsten Geary during her cinematic.
Kingsmouth Town

  • Death and the Instruments Thereof: Fixed an issue in the cinematic that caused Sandy "Moose" Jansen's leg to move unnaturally.
  • The Meowling: Werekittens should respawn quickly if there are still players in the area with the goal to kill them.
  • The Meowling: Removed temporary text from the tooltip for the Bag of Tricks and Treats reward.
  • Crossing the Black Path: Fixed an issue with Siabhra's Air where the tooltip was referring to the wrong mission.
The Scorched Desert

  • Old Gods, New Tricks: Fixed a clipping issue that occurred with Tanis during the cinematic for this mission.
City of the Sun God

  • The Dark Places: Fixed a typo in the opening cinematic.
The Shadowy Forest

  • When the Hatchet Falls: Removed an extra period in the subtitles for this mission.
The Carpathian Fangs

  • You Only Die Twice: Fixed a clipping issue with Dragan Dzoavich's headset.
  • The Sound of Children: Fixed a clipping issue with Lilith during a cinematic in this mission.
Dungeons

  • Hell Fallen: Killing Engine Tyrant Prime before it calls Alpha no longer prevents progress through the dungeon.
  • Hell Fallen: Fixed a pre-encounter animation glitch on Engine Tyrant Prime.
World Design

  • Removed an invisible barrier that was blocking a ramp in El Dorado.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed players to reach unintended areas of N'gha-Pei the Corpse-Island (Kingsmouth Lair Raid).
  • Collision tightened around the Squalid Hekaturgist in The Black Ankh.
  • Fixed a location in Blue Mountain where players could get stuck between some rocks.
  • Fixed a location in Blue Mountain where players could get stuck under a tree.
  • Fixed some missing collision in Shambhala which allowed players to reach unintended areas.
  • Fixed a location on The Last Train to Cairo where players could get stuck on crates.
  • Fixed a location in Fusang that allowed players to reach unintended areas.

Update 1.8 Content Release - November 7th

New!

  • Scenarios are now available! Secret Worlders can hone themselves in simulated training environments. Players can select a destination, group size, and difficulty. Protect NPCs from hordes of ravening enemies and receive certification from the Council of Venice!
  • The Augment system can now be unlocked! Tune your abilities to suit your playstyle's needs!
  • A new story mission is available! The main storyline continues, ramping up to the next pivotal chapter in Tokyo.
Combat

  • Fixed an issue where Suppressing Fire would sometimes not build resources when multiple players attacked the same target. Note that this now causes the ability to build resources at the end of the cast similar to Bloodline.
  • Increased the duration of Advantage Me to be 5 seconds.
  • Increased the jump distance of the chain spells Wanted, Electrical Storm, and Infection to 5 meters.
GUI

  • Fixed item shortcut window being cleared when loading a build in the gear manager.
  • Fixed an issue that caused minor talismans to be removed from saved builds when launching the client.
  • Fixed an issue where the Gear Manager would not equip certain items.
  • Fixed an issue that could prevent the Gear Manager from equipping an Elite Passive ability.
  • Fixed an issue that could prevent the Gear Manager from equipping an Elite Active ability.
  • Fixed an issue where the Gear Manager would preview the wrong set when more than 8 sets were saved.
Clothing

  • Fixed an issue where some gloves would get cut off when wearing a Strapless blouse and corset

  • The Gypsy's Diary - Fixed a typo in the mission description text
Savage Coast

Update 1.8.1 - November 14th

General

  • A new 'Greenscreen' backdrop is now available in the Albion Theater!
  • Sighing Forest Spirits no longer count towards the Fata Padurii kill count.
  • Fixed an issue which could cause filth stacks to be applied to players who are no longer standing in filth.
  • Kingsmouth Town exploration achievements are working again.
  • Updated the text for the Welcome To Your Nightmare achievement to reflect that the listed scenarios must be completed on both the Duo Nightmare and Group Nightmare settings.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from receiving The Venetian Agenda achievement. Players who have already completed The Venetian Agenda mission will be credited with the achievement and the reward.
  • Child of the Night achievement gives proper version of Super soldier chemical tank harness.
  • Attuned Restoring Augment Resonators will now display the proper level in their name.
  • Updated description of Unattuned Serendipitous Augment Resonator to reflect that it actually requires 60 Pure water to attune.
  • Draugs that hatch along beaches in New England will attack the player disturbing their gestation period.
  • Fixed the color of the Fiery Tentacle Topper.
GUI

  • Gear manager is now updated when an augment is trained.
  • Head accessories will no longer be saved by the gear manager.
  • Fixed an issue where the Scenario Setup interface did not display lockout errors for members who joined the team after the interface was opened.
Combat

  • Fixed an issue where augment effects would disappear after death.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Rampant Augment to not affect Lightning Manifestation and other chain abilities.
  • House of Danesti Vandal's AoE attacks will now trigger at the appropriate time and location.
  • Updated the description of Chain Misery to reflect that you need to hit with a chain attack for the effects to be applied.
  • High Explosive Grenade will now be able to critically hit and penetrate when used against afflicted targets.
  • Removed cooldown on Ignite.
  • Increased number of targets affected by Linked Veins to 5.
  • Increased number of targets affected by Coup de Grace to 5.
  • Reduced cooldown of Anima Charge to 30 seconds.
  • Reduced cooldown of Cannibalise to 25 seconds.
  • Reduced cast time of Contaminate to 1 second.
  • Reduced cooldown of Contaminate to 40 seconds.
  • Reduced cooldown of Transfuse and Abuse to 45 seconds.
Missions

Hubs

  • Venetian Missile Crisis - This mission now has a 3-day cooldown.
  • Just a Flesh Wound - This mission now has a 3-day cooldown.
  • Virgula Divina - Player must remove all 4 shackles before advancing to next goal.
  • Mainframe - Players will now have a waypoint directing them back to the subway if they leave* Rogue Agent/To Catch a Thief - This mission has undergone several balance adjustments and minor change.
Kingsmouth Town

  • The Uncertainty Principle - This mission now has a 3-day cooldown.
  • The Black Helicopter - Orochi scientists no longer get stuck when running out of the lab.
Savage Coast

  • Ami Legend - Assaulting ak'ab will spawn when player leaves and re-enter the assault area.
  • Ami Legend - The Lair of Darkness is no longer labeled a Solo Instance.
  • The Cover-Up - Dynamite objects reset properly.
Blue Mountain

  • Detritus Prime - Detritus Prime no longer attacks players when he's un-attackable himself, but he learned a new ability.
Scorched Desert

  • The City Before Us - Interacting with the Time tomb will no longer remove items from inventory.
City of the Sun God

  • Dead Rising - Added missing mission description text
Besieged Farmlands

  • Deathless - Call of the Black Moon now automatically swaps new abilities in to the hotbar.
  • Deathless - Blood Burst ability should now properly silence.
  • Ripples - Herald of Sorrow in Tier four of this mission should now reset properly
Dungeons

Polaris

  • Replaced a fully-functional combination lock on a shipping crate in the Polaris with a slightly faulty one, as we needed the good lock to build something else.
Darkness War

  • Extended some blocking collision around the Mayan Battle Mage to prevent players from getting outside the playable area.
Hell Fallen

  • Fixed an issue that caused Ascendant, Gog, and Magog to occasionally run away from the fight.
Hell Raised

  • Fixed a collision area in Hell Raised to prevent players leaving the playable area.
Hell Eternal

  • Lustrehunter is more predictable about when he casts Mephisto's Reach, and Fallback.
Slaughterhouse

  • NKL-107 now always drops his loot in the center of the room to ensure it's always possible to grab
Scenarios

  • Survivors with bear arms are now less likely to become traitors.
  • The Hotel - All regions of the pool in Hotel Wahid should now be affected by the Sandstorm.
  • The Castle - Added collision to a closed door* The Castle - Players can no longer jump over the wall to exit the area
  • Players will no longer be on the threat list for wave enemies when they spawn.
  • Healing will no longer generate excessive threat against enemies.


Update 1.8.0.1 - November 13th

Scenarios

  • Fixed an issue that could prevent a special event from occurring at the end of Wave 2.
  • The sandstorm will no longer affect players while they are on the second floor of the Hotel.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause players to crash during the sandstorm event in The Hotel.

Update 1.8.2 - November 21st

GENERAL
  • Added a new "/roll" command, which rolls a random number from 1 to 100 and sends the result to your team
  • Trade, LookingforGroup, and the Faction channels are now shared between Venice, London, Seoul, and New York
  • Fixed a location in the Sunken Library that allowed players to exit the playable area
  • Collision around the servers in the Sunken Library has been raised to better match the visual appearance of the area
  • Fixed a typo in the tooltip for Impenetrable Augment Resonator
  • Updated the description of Unattuned Serendipitous Augment Resonator to reflect that it actually requires 60 Pure water to attune
  • Clarified tooltip text on various abilities
  • Fixed the tooltip for the menu option Enable Double Tapping For Dodge
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Ellri Cleavers in Blue Mountain to become stuck

GUI
  • Added a new option to the character sheet to allow players to hide their weapon when out of combat
  • Added a new button to the inventory for sorting and stacking items in each bag
  • Added Augments to the Auction House search drop-down menus
  • Fixed an issue where no text would display on the popup window when selling Item Store items to vendors
  • Augments saved in first slot in the gear manager should properly load
  • Fix to prevent blank icons being equipped to the passive bar
  • Fixed an issue that prevented characters from using the Scenario console if another character on the same account had logged out with the console window open
  • Using the scroll bar in the gear management window no longer causes the keyboard to stop functioning correctly
  • Disassembling items in the crafting window will stack properly when moved into the inventory

COMBAT
  • Critical hits from the fist ability Savage should now properly trigger passives
  • Abilities that act on hit should last only as long and affect the number of targets as intended

MISSIONS
Hubs
  • The Venetian Agenda - Added reward options to this mission. Players who have already completed this mission will have an item in their claim window that will allow them to choose a reward
  • Rogue Agent/To Catch A Thief - Fixed an issue that prevented the mission from advancing

Besieged Farmlands
  • Ripples - Replaced the temporary text used in one of the Herald of Sorrow's abilities

SCENARIOS
GENERAL
  • Solved an issue where certain scenario attackers would ignore players doing damage to them until they reach one of the survivors
  • Added Remuneration of Venice as a reward to all Scenario quests
  • Solo Normal, Solo Elite, Duo Normal, Duo Elite versions of each scenario location now have enemies spawn with reduced hate to allow players to pull monsters off survivors a bit easier
  • Scenario wave 1 and wave 2 bosses will no longer have a chance to drop epic or heroic unattuned augments, they will instead drop more often from wave 3 bosses
  • Fixed an issue that could cause a player to get the wrong lockout timer if they were dead when the scenario ended
  • Fixed an issue that caused scenarios to stall if everyone is dead when a new wave begins
  • Removed a renegade semicolon to appease the code gods
  • Group scenario monsters have a bit more health

The Hotel
  • Hotel Elite scenarios will now spawn all intended waves
  • They Go Forth by Dawn achievement should now function properly

The Mansion
  • Fixed an issue that could cause enemies to become stuck in place

Update 1.8.3 - December 18th

GENERAL

  • Fixed a typo in the augment tooltip descriptions on the skill page* Fixed an issue that prevented faction rank from progressing after achieving the max XP required.
  • Nassir's pants are once again the proper color.
  • Fixed an issue caused weapons to re-appear after a cinematic, even hidden ones.
  • Fixed an issue which could incorrectly hide certain auxiliary weapons when equipped with an Assault Rifle.

GUI

  • Added a new UI for accessing pets (Shift+P). Using a pet in your inventory will now both consume it and transfer it to this new window.
  • Fixed a case where the Fusang status on the World Domination UI was inaccurate.
  • Fixed a case where the vendor UI did not display tokens properly.

COMBAT

  • Corrected the combat log message when your barrier absorbs damage to include the name of the attack.
  • Using Amor Fati while Castigation is active will no longer cause all hits to do critical damage.

MISSIONS

Hubs

  • Virgula Divina - Shackles reset correctly when player dies in the middle of the boss fight in the laboratory.
Carpathian Fangs

  • Red Snow - This mission is now only available while players have access to the snowmobile during You Only Die Twice.

DUNGEONS

The Facility

  • Anima Spike is now less dangerous to players under the influence of Blood Offering.

SCENARIOS

General

  • Scenario Setup interface will now display the names of team members who are locked out of the currently selected scenario.
  • Scenario Setup interface will now prompt players to purchase DLC if they select a scenario they have not purchased, even if they are in a team.
The Hotel

  • Fixed an issue that prevented players from signing up for the Elite difficulty without having purchased the DLC.
  • The timers in the Nightmare Duo version should now function properly.
The Castle

  • Padurii spirits can no longer be killed with Explosive Proximity Mines as this rendered the Padurii invincible.
