Re: истребитель
А теперь читаем о реалиях военных лётчиков:
Bryan Tolladay: Time for a REALITY CHECK _ Get yourself a top simulator - they are just as good and a damned sight safer. When you die you just reboot. For real you have to be right everytime without exception. The enemy only has to be lucky once.
[05.03.2012 20:04:49 | Изменены 20:15:41] Bryan Tolladay: Always remember what my VERY OLD instructor Pilot told me.
[05.03.2012 20:05:16] Bryan Tolladay: "It is far, far better to be down here wishing you were up there than up there wishing you were downhere."
[05.03.2012 20:05:41] Bryan Tolladay: Fighter pilots life is grossly exagerated - or they would not be fighter pilots.
[05.03.2012 20:06:07] Bryan Tolladay: Think of hours of boredom interspersed with moments of stark terror.
[05.03.2012 20:06:52] Bryan Tolladay: Think of the hours spent on Quick reaction alert (48hrs every week of sheer absolute boredom - You get good at chess, bridge etc.
[05.03.2012 20:07:47 | Изменены 20:25:09] Bryan Tolladay: Remember the flight suit lurking in your locker - stinking - with 10 cm sweat rings because you only get a clean one every 2 weeks - Cleaning them is VERY expensive - easier to let the crew stink.
[05.03.2012 20:09:37] Bryan Tolladay: Sitting in the cockpit on the ground for hours douing exercises, gun registration and compass and IN swings - Very hot, very sweaty, (no ac on the ground) you can lose 2-3 kg an hour
[05.03.2012 20:10:19 | Изменены 20:25:44] Bryan Tolladay: The wonders of simulator play (at least 30 hrs a month) when hell breaks loose regularly and an error and you redo from start.
[05.03.2012 20:10:33 | Изменены 20:26:41] Bryan Tolladay: All the ground school and study just to keep up to date. And of course the fun of dingy drills in icy water, the escape and evasion training so the Russians don't get you. The wonders of survival training in desert, sea, artic, jungle. The PE every day, the wonderful food on alert and exercise. The joys of working in an NBC suit. Oh and on food you can't drink because or slated to fly tomorrow.

[05.03.2012 20:21:30] Bryan Tolladay: Transit flights are all fun - 6-10 hours with your arse strapped to a bang seat dieing for a pea. You have a flask of Coffee, some dry crinkly sandwiich of doubtful and unrecognisable taste, and occasional refuelling ( better get thet right too) and you can look at the blue sky, and more blue sky and Oh yes more blue sky for 10 hours it could be at nighjt when you can see all the starts but really not a lot else till the tanker turns up - You hope.
[05.03.2012 20:22:32] Bryan Tolladay: The there is the real fun when things go wrong like engine failure or fire a long way from the nice friendly runway - That will concentrate the mind and the bladder.
[05.03.2012 20:22:56] Bryan Tolladay: May be you do get to shoot at somebody then come home and think about it.
[05.03.2012 20:23:18 | Изменены 20:24:06] Bryan Tolladay: Maybe even drop a nuke on whom?.
[05.03.2012 20:24:23] Bryan Tolladay: Simulators are a lot more fun.
[05.03.2012 20:27:22] Bryan Tolladay: I telll you it can get very lonely up there VERY fast. Yes the flights can be fun and the exercise of the skill very rewarding - but getting there and staying there can be hell.
[05.03.2012 20:28:02] Bryan Tolladay: Have Fun dreaming ;)
