Lineage2 is our favorite game. We love the most important part of game like PVP and GVG fights very much. We love battles for territory, sieges, fights one by one and group VS group,
and clan wars.
But some of classes are needless and pointless in this actions. This letter is about Tank classes.
In Lineage 2 there are 4 professions of tanks. Tanks do not have skills that could make a lot of damage, and don't have big physical attack, so we think that Tanks were designed as a defensive Class, that has to take damage on himself to protect his party members. Skills like Deflect Arrow, Ultimate Defense, Aggression, Heavy Armor Mastery and skills for using shield can make some help in this problem, but it is not enough to do the work that Tank has to do. We want to explain these problems in our letter from our point of view.
Tank is practically unprotected from Magic. We have only one passive skill for magic defense, and a chanse to block some magic nukes. Vortexes and lots of other magic skills still do very powerfull damage to us and debuffs land on us very easily. If a Tank becomes targeted by a Mage - Tank dies as fast as any DD or support class. But DDs&supports can do a lot of profit. Some support classes can Buff their groups and friends or heal them, others have a good ability to debuff and make enemies wery weak for a short time. Damage dealers do a lot of damage to enemy targets. Tank can not do the same profit. Tanks neither have any ability to buff their party members nor any powerful debuffs that can land on a buffed enemy and make any help to Tank’s party. Tank can't deal enough damage to kill somebody through CP potion's spam. So Tanks are practically ignored in PVP and die in the end of it with no hope and no profit.
In C5-Interlude Melee DDs (as Destroyer,Gladiator,Tyrant etc.) got their most powerful skills, that can ignore shield defense, so they became prof killers of tanks, so why didn't tanks get any improvement in defence from another classes in return?
About Skills:
Final Fortress play a very low roll in protection of Tanks. We will be glad to see it be forced to give for example effect 1 on 60% HP, And effect 2 on 30% HP and not only + P def but M def, Shield block Rate and Shield Defense too. Then it will be the true final fortress.
Guard Stance and Shield fortress eat so much MP that it makes these skills useless in PVE and most of PVP.
Arrest/Shackle/Mass Shackle – long cast and very low land rate on enemy with buff. It lasts only 10 seconds so we will be glad to se it's land better on buffed enemies .
Cubics do not up their level and can not be enchanted. So they are weak and become even weaker on high levels.
Shield Stun – main skill of Human Tanks, but its' land rate is very low on Buffed Players with good equip and it is too easy to knock down. May be it should have some another non stun attribute to work better in PVP with buffs, because shield stun is the main skill of human Tanks and it has mele range and in the same time it doesn't do damage or drop target like Archers stun for example.
In real life the same shield punch as shield stun can brake a little tree or knock down good equipped man with good armor for a long period of time. But in game it haven't got any special effect and it works terribly bad on players with resist stun buff or special equip.
Shield Slam – the chance of landing of this debuff go down abruptly if enemy has mental shield.
We haven't got any attack skills – all we have is debuffs. But the problem is that our
opponents get from buffs: 1. dramatically multiplied damage, 2. very strong defence, 3. almost absolute immunity from our debuffs;
tanks get from buffs: 1. a little bit bigger damage, still very weak, 2. same defense bonus, 3. immunity from debuffs like ours, but most DD's just do damage, so we get nothing from it, and magical debuffs of mage classes land on us still very often because of their matk, multiplied by buffs.
So what we are trying to say is that we get much less advantages from buffs than DD classes, whose buffed damage overcomes our defence abilities very easily.
Tribunal – very low decrease of player‘s critical chance with buff.
Dark Panther is the proud skill of Dark Avengers, but now it becomes weaker and weaker. Its summoning time is terribly long, it's very weak in PVP and die by 1-3 nukes, using it is expensive and Dark Avengers have not got support skills for it.
At the same time Dark Panther does not use its MP, because it has no active skills so it is a boring summon . Please give any active skills to it.
Players can get pets that are even better then Dark Panther and even more powerful. Now they can get cool augmentation in their weapon or use some attribute stones and soul crystals to become even more powerful so the roll of Dark Panther became very low.
A lot of Dark Avengers take this class because of this skill, but now it is too weak..
Give more attention to Dark Panther please.
Dark Avengers - have no analog of skill that let them block in all direction, but the role of shield grows every update so he should get at least same Aegis Stance like Paladin has.
Healing of Paladin and Temple Knight uses a lot of MP and casts too long, at the moment these skills are totally pointless both in pvp and pve.
All fighters magic: A lot of Tanks have magic skills, but our magic attack is too weak. So we can not use our magic effectively. So we have dead skills that do very low damage, long cast, and debuffs that do not land on enemy or land with a terribly low chance. For example corpse plague works bad even on monsters, life Scavenge drains very low HP from corps, magic nukes that do little damage, etc. There are rumors that you are going to lower the chance of hex and power brake landing... the landrate is already very low and becomes close to zero when opponent gets buffed.
Temple Knight have not got any unique skills. It will be very interesting to see some new useful skills for this class.
Please fix the Symbol Of Defence fusion skill, it is now broken, it gives defence to the enemies as well, and even on mobs! And please make it work around the tank, when he moves, locked to the ground this skill is almost useless, and please make its short buff located separately brom other buffs.

This letter was written by people who love Lineage 2 and love knight class very much.
We hope the roll of Tanks will be much better in the world of Lineage2.
We want to play our main characters to be useful for our clan and friends, and not to use sub class of Archers/ mages or supports for it.
We want our class help and protect our party, clan and friends.
We want our enemies fear us like all other classes and do not joking about our uselessness.
We want to have a reason to play our main class at last!
And there are just two more things:
1. tanks need a serious improvement from 40 lvl and even 20, new skills 80+ will never return tanks back to the game.
2. please, stop trying to make balance looking at olympiad games, where mages can't use bss, no full-buff and no potions, that kind of duels mean NOTHING in the game, all wars, sieges, gvg, pvp and pve always mean full- or at least a very good buff; and everyone uses CP-pots.
