Re: Акустическая иллюзия - Yeanny vs Laurel. Кто что слышит?
Зависит от частот:
"Why tho?
Now we get to the really fun part: the science of why people are hearing two totally different things.
Professor David Alais from the University of Sydney, who specialises in audio-visual perception, says the key is in the frequencies – Yanny can be heard at higher frequencies, while Laurel is more in the base.
"I've been playing around with the sound myself, and when you filter out some of the higher frequencies you get Laurel," he says.
"I was 100 per cent Yanny, it was unambiguous, I heard Yanny every time. But when I filtered out the higher frequencies, I heard Laurel."
Although he was able to filter out the higher frequencies using audio technology, Professor Alais said it may also be "an age thing".
"Older people don't have high frequency content, they aren't sensitive to higher frequencies. So older people are more likely to hear Laurel and younger people are more likely to hear it as Yanny."
The bigger picture of what the experiment reveals, though, is that the brain is always guessing.
"It's the interpretive brain at work. Our perception of the world is usually extremely reliable, and doesn't make mistakes, and it's just perfectly fit for purpose; we can interact with the world because we see everything reliably."
But that belies the complexity of what's actually happening, he says.
"Occasionally [the brain] can't solve the problem, or it finds there are two answers. This is actually really common in vision. There are all sorts of complex visual stimuli that tend to flip backwards and forwards between your eyes.""
В общем зависит от качества звука на ПК и от возраста.
Более старые слышат - Лорел, молодые - йени.
