Rogue Guide

Rogue/Warrior:

Pros:
- high dps
- useful in parties/raids
- bonuses to hp and str
- great for pking ( so far )

Cons:
- totally useless 2/4 elite skills ( Whirlwind mastery, Throwing mastery )
- slower than dagger/dagger ( in case u are using axes )
- low survavibility



Rogue/Scout:

Pro's: they need the same stats so more for the needed stats for both.
ranged and melee damage is possible attacks that you get:
-vampire arrow (ranged dot.)
-Throat attack (Melee attack, once you get the elite skill of level 20 for your rogue it silences the target for 4 seconds)
-Joint blow (melee attack, slows the movement speed of the target by 40%, nice when you have to get away in nasty situations)

con's: Very low survivability, really need to spam pots in pvp and pve vs people or mobs do quite high damage..



Rogue/Priest:

Pros: Survivability, really good Elite Skills

Cons: Priests can't wear leather or use daggers, not much benfit from stats.




Rogue/Mage:

Pros:

* Unique and great elite skills (traps, magic break)

* best root skills, and other great (de-)buff skills in possession (silence, fireward, magic break, treasure hunter, sharpen, plunder etc.), which makes a great party member.

* Ultimate mage & priest slayers, pvp

* 2 mana pools (mage/rogue)

* able to wear 2 wands for higher damage/defence, more runes equip able & higher evasion (mage/rogue)


Cons:

* 4 "root" skills. Lightning, shadow prison, Paralysing trap (Elite skill gain at level 25) and numbing dagger (arnt 1 or 2 already enough? makes us keep less skills to use).

* low, or actually lowest survivability

* stats don’t add much to each other

* can’t equip leather (mage/rogue)




Rogue/Knight:

Pros: Boosts the rogue's low hp and defense. Also, there are passive knight skills that really helps out, like enhance armor(increases def) and the one which increases stamina. Disarmament is also a nice skill too because you can spam it 4x and decrease the enemy's armor def and deal more damage.


Rogue/Scout:


Dedicated Rogue/Scout (as opposed to Scout/Rogues) skill choice:

Shot: If you boost it, it will be useful damage when running too (or from) mobs, if you don't, it's still a decent lure for selecting targets. Either way, it's free.
Protip: Shot works with premeditation too; if you're pulling with it, wait for the monster to turn its back to you, then Premedishoot it in the back like the dirty little sniper you are.


Vampire Arrows: Max it; anyone who says this skill isn't awesome is an ignorant foreigner. Now it's been upgraded, you can basically keep a single target constantly bleeding to death.


Rogue/Warrior:


Playing R/W keep in mind maxing Berserk, it dramatically boost our damage ( decreasing def in the same time, but def its not the thing we are looking for since we are going for damage ). It lasts only for 30 sec tho, but the cooldwon isn't that long so after a while, it's ready to use.

PvE & PvP Tips & Tactics

General:

As a Rogue/Warrior:

"R/S vs higher levelled mobs:

Start on high terrain, shoot vampire arrow, and shot untill they come close, at that time they should have some damage.
After that just shadowface-villainy, throat rip vs casting mobs, if they do really much damage I use an blind stab ocasionally.


If you're low health or the mob does too much damage:
fight like an scout.
vampire arrow > shot spam while kiting the mob around.
if they come close: shadowface>villainy>joint break(40% slow) and start running again with the vampire arrow>shot spam.

R/S vs multiple mobs the only way to survive is to use the 10 min CD,
Blind stab on the main mob and wristcut, the ability to lower damage gained."

How to survive certain death:

Maybe it turns out, you weren't as sneaky as you thought and now that high level monster is kicking you like a bad habit and his friends have come over to join in.
Things seem hopeless but don't start counting the Exp debt yet, because you're a Rogue Priest!

What you're going to do is make sure you are auto Attacking and spam your heals.

- If your health is under half, first one to cast is the 5 second Immune to all damage/invisability skill, "Holy Aura" , then quickly cast Instant Heal (1 second cast), Regen (instant), Instant Heal.

- If your health isn't low, cast regen (insant), then Instant Heal, and save Holy Aura for incase things get more dire.

When your health is high enough you can unload some more rogue attacks, if you're really in Shifts creak you could use your special, Assasin's Rage.

When the main target is dead switch to one of his friends and continue until you are free at last.

Please Note: Use the Mana Pot. You may find yourself in a situation where your health is low and your mana medium-low and you see 2 pot options, the red one and the blue one. Choose the blue one. The HP one will only heal you once, the blue one will heal you several times.

When entering Fights:

When enterring fights make sure you have Amplified Armor thingie up or you would see big nasty red numbers flying above your head.

When in Combat:

Fighting, you have two options either to open with your attack chain right away and finish off with Disarm or open with Disarm spam to reduce target's armor and follow with you combo. That varies on what combo youre using SF/Vill/Lace or BS/Vill/Lace.

usually I just spam the standard rogue skills when playing rogue, so Shadow face> Villainy > Laceration > again. Depending on the mob I make different chains. With rogue/mage u have a wide selection of skills chains because u are range and melee. In start i mostly made chains for ranged damage like Fireball > lightning > (combo?) throw > fireball (when mob is still in range) > *shadowface > villainy > laceration > *again if mob still refuses to be death already.

Depending on the mob I use silence on casters and since short I discovered the great use of traps (poison trap, Paralyse trap) I sometimes place them right before the mobs feet before I start a battle. I actually never use skills that requires shadow step. Even though blind spot is better then shadowface,.. I also nearly never use hide.

Rogue/mage combo is the most squishy combination u can take in RoM. There is no electrostatic field to protect u from damage and except vanish there is nothing to protect u from death. U'll have to play with your lucky dodge and stunning range skills to kill off mobs,.. For those who seek this build, its a pretty interesting build though.

For pvp as R/S I suggest to time your spike well. Make clever use of shadow prison combined with energy absorb. Follow up with a silence defence against casters.

btw, premeditation does not require a back attack. Shot from the front will also lead to a crit always.
